The stage project Contra.Natura aims to reflect on the dramatic essence of the relationship between cultural creation – ephemeral, short-lived, fragile – and the actions of nature – infinite, perennial, omnipresent; between the vulnerability and futility of the human condition and the ubiquity of nature understood as a whole.
Performed by a male actor and a female dancer, Contra.Natura is a multidisciplinary work that starts out with the language of visual and physical theatre, and incorporates elements from other arts disciplines like dance, performance and installation. Using video and sound effects generated in real time and multimedia projects to favour interaction between the performers and the performance space, Contra.Natura articulates a dramatic architecture with a strong conceptual content and intense poetic charge.
Programmed in collaboration with the Autumn Festival of Catalonia, Temporada Alta.

A collection of thirteen episodes of a series that will never be made, and consists only of fragments of no more than one minute, each showing the highlights of the previous episode. The plot focuses on the municipality of Pontós, using interviews with the locals together with material from different sources. The video is accompanied by a “making of” that shows the connections, decisions and other contingencies of the working process.
Presentation of the Augmented Scenography Lab/ LABFàbrica
October 17 Centre Cultural La Mercè
Santi Vilanova
Lab carried out from October 5 to 18. Celrà
http://www.labfabrica.net/
The Augmented Scenography Lab set out to use practical exercises and create theatre scenographies through the hybridisation of new audiovisual disciplines and traditional set design. The workshop was aimed at videomakers, musicians, set designers, engineers,
lighting designers and theatre technicians who were eager to spend a few days contributing their creativity and experience. Using technologies from the fields of audio, video, graphic design, lighting, sensors, robotics and interactivity, together with set design and the ingenuity of the participants, the idea was to participate in a series of practical sessions in which to explore the possibilities offered by the combination of these discipline through the design of scenes or small sketches.
The festival hosts the public presentation of the results and the sample of the work process establishing a dialogue with the audience.

A look through the VAD archives
The VAD audiovisual archives are made up of the more than 900 works selected over the years that the festival has been held. When it came to deciding the slogan to define this year's festival, we were obviously inspired by the current socioeconomic situation. But also by an awareness that the reflection on the evolution of humanity and the tendency to "imagine/express” a possible or catastrophic future has been one of the recurring themes of the artists who have participated in our festival with their works.
At the Bòlit – La Rambla Dadaespai, you will find a selection of these works that we think it is worth recovering and offering to the public, for those who are visiting the festival for the first time, and also for those who saw them when they were first screened but can now take another look from a different perspective.
The VAD Breakfasts
A space for meeting, working and sharing among the artists invited to the festival and Girona's arts community.
Friday 16th and Saturday 17th from 11am to 2pm at NIU
